DU teachers call on V-C
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A delegation of the Democratic Teachers’ Front along with some Academic Council members has called on Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental and Dean of Colleges Nayanjot Lahiri to discuss some pressing issues.
The DTF lodged its protest against the University’s recent communication to all the departments directing them to stop the process of admission to the M. Phil. and Ph.D. programmes.
“It was pointed out to him that as per the regulations of the University Grants Commission the fellowship holders, if not registered in either M.Phil. or Ph.D. within a stipulated period would lose their fellowship. The Vice-Chancellor informed the delegation that in view of the UGC scheme of fellowship and the issue of quality of research, a committee has been constituted by the University,” said DTF president Sanjaya Kumar Bohidar.
The delegation also demanded an inquiry against the Principal of Deshbandhu College (Morning).
