Kidnapped boy’s body found in drain

NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped from New Ashok Nagar here this past Friday for a ransom of Rs.2 lakh has been murdered. His body was found dumped in a nearby drain on Tuesday. Rajdeep, son of K. M. Pandey, was last spotted around 7 p.m. on April 4 when he left home to meet a friend. Two hours later, his father received a call from a person demanding Rs.2 lakh for Rajdeep’s release. The father reported the matter to the police. The kidnappers rang up again on Sunday asking Rajdeep’s father whether he had arranged the money. As directed by the police, he agreed to make the payment and was asked by the caller to come to the Shahdara metro railway station. The police laid a trap for the kidnappers, but no one turned up.
