UDHAGAMANDALAM: Indian Railways in Group ‘A’ and West Bengal ‘A’ in Group ‘B’ led the field at the end of the 12th round of the Team-of-four duplicate event, for the T.P. Khosla Trophy, in the 39th summer National bridge championship at the Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu, near here, on Tuesday. Though Railways lost two matches, the comprehensive victories in the other six rounds saw it aggregate 227 VPs out of 300. Andhra Pradesh ‘B’ and Maharashtra ‘B’ followed with 211 VPs each. West Zone was in the fourth spot with 206. West Bengal ‘A’ was ahead with 227 VPs in the other group. Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh were joint second with 213. The sponsor’s team, Khosla, occupied the fourth place with 198. The championship was inaugurated on Monday by A.M. Naik, Member A &E, Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata.
