A man in a hurry
Special Correspondent
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was visibly impatient as he and other VIPs honoured and presented awards to 71 persons in 25 minutes at the Ugadi celebrations.
The honouring of Vedic pandits and presentation of awards to eminent personalities from different walks of life was hurried through as Dr. Reddy had two more engagements to fulfil.
It was literally a rush job as 30 pandits in different Vedas were garlanded and presented shawls, citation and purse.
The garlands were dispensed with for the awardees who were down the queue.
The Chief Minister was seen looking at his wrist watch and admonishing officials and Ministers as the stage got crowded, which delayed the presentation ceremony.
