MUMBAI: Eight school teams from different cities will contest the Boost Cricket Cup inter-City Challenge to decide India’s champion under-17 schools side. The 11th inter-City schools cricket event at different venues, from April 9 to 14, will be followed by a seven-day coaching clinic featuring 20 shortlisted players under Mohinder Amarnath, former India all-rounder. Five exceptional talents, designated as ‘ratnas,’ will be given cash prizes. The eight finalists, emerging after an inter-city tournament held across 18 cities, are Salwan Boys (Delhi), St. John’s Church JC (Hyderabad), Vidyakunj HS (Baroda), Swami Vivekanand International School (Mumbai), DAV (Chandigarh), Presidency School (Bangalore), Neelambal Subramaniam HS (Salem). The Chennai winner will be finalised later. — Special Correspondent
