Cultural programmes held on Ugadi eve

HYDERABAD: Celebrations were held on the eve of Ugadi at Raj Bhavan on Sunday evening. Governor N.D. Tiwari and several former Governors, including V.S. Rama Devi, P.S. Ramamohana Rao, B. Satyanarayana Reddy and I.H. Latif, took part.

A student of Vidyaranya High School, Sharanya Rajagopal, rendered a prayer song welcoming Ugadi and Vedic pandits chanted the ‘Vedokta aseervachanam.’ Kuchipudi, Lambada and Koya dances were performed by various troupes. Mr. Tiwari later gave his Ugadi greetings.
