Helpless situation: Scores of passengers had to wait for hours at Secunderabad reservation counter on Sunday. HYDERABAD: With the South Central Railway ticket reservation system developing technical snags in twin cities, commuters at the Secunderabad reservation complex on Sunday had a tough time buying tickets. Owing to the technical snags at couple of stations, including MMTS stations in the city, scores of commuters thronged the reservation complex and had to stand in serpentine queues. In view of weekend and Ugadi holidays, the reservation complex teemed with people, particularly employees who had to get their return journey tickets to their destinations. In what used to be a matter of minutes usually, on Sunday took hours Several ‘unlucky’ commuters left the complex fuming. “I had to purchase a ticket to Chennai. Such was the rush that even after standing for couple of hours, I could not ,” informed a passenger. Ticket counters in the complex are operated from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and between 2.15 p.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Of the 36 counters in the complex, half were functional while others displayed ‘closed’ signboards. However, SCR authorities assured that the technical snags were rectified and claimed that tickets would be issued at the station reservation counters as usual.
