Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: Medak Collector Piyush Kumar in an order restored the cheque drawing powers of the sarpanches who have completed auditing of panchayat records for the year 2006-2007.

According to the order 16 out of the 63 sarpanches who failed to complete auditing of their records earlier have submitted their audited records to the District audit officer.

The remaining 46 panchayats have been given thirty days to complete the task. Vice president of the State Sarpanches Forum Dokuri Rammohan Reddy in a press release here on Sunday appreciated the decision.
