Srinivasa Kalyana Mahotsavam today

CHENNAI: The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) will conduct “Srinivasa Kalyana Mahotsavam” on Island Grounds here on Sunday.

According to TTD president K. Anada Kumar Reddy, the Devasathanam would bring in “Utsavars” from Tirumala to perform the “Srinivasa Kalyanam.” He said the wedding would be performed amid chanting of hymns like in Tirumala and prasadams from Tirumala will be distributed to all devotees. The Mahotsavam will begin at 6 p.m.

Additional buses

Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will operate additional buses from various parts of the city to Island Grounds for the convenience of devotees.

An MTC press release said buses terminating at Anna Square and those from north Chennai plying via Broadway would be extended to Island Grounds.

All the buses would halt at Island Grounds bus stop from 4 p.m. to till the end of the function.

The release said traffic officials and supervisory staff had been posted at Broadway, Madras High Court, Anna Square and Island Grounds to operate sufficient buses.
