Kolkata: The West Bengal Finance Minister Ashin Dasgupta on Saturday announced the launch of a Rs. 100-crore scheme for providing cooked food to the poor and physically weak unable to participate in the employment generation schemes.

Addressing a press conference, Dr. Dasgupta said starting with Paschim Medinipur, the scheme would be extended to the entire State within the next six months, covering four lakh people, among the poorest of the poor. Implementation

It would be implemented through the panchayats in the rural areas and the municipalities in the urban areas, he said.
