“Protect cultural ethos of South India”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The national-spirited poems of Mahakavi Bharathi were relevant for the present day younger generation, Social Welfare Minister, Poongothai Aladi Aruna, said here on Friday.

Participating at the Bharathiar Vizha celebrations arranged as part of the nine-day Kalai Ilakkiya Thiruvizha organised by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram, the Minister wanted the cultural ethos of South India to be protected and assured Tamil Nadu Government’s support to help achieve this objective.

She said Kalai Ilakkiya Thiruvizha and the recently concluded Chennai Sangamam had helped to preserve the ancient cultural ethos of South India.
