Special camp today to enrol folk artistes

KARUR: A special camp for helping the rural artistes enrol themselves under the Tamil Nadu Government’s Welfare Board for Rural Folk Artistes would be conducted at Narada Gana Sabha here at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

A press release issued here by Collector T.N. Venkatesh said that folk artistes desirous of enrolling themselves as members with the Social Welfare Boards should produce identity cards issued by the Department of Art and Culture or a certificate to the effect issued by the respective village administrative officer, besides proof of age, family ration card and three passport size photos along with the prescribed amount to the officer concerned at the Sabha counter at the stated time.
Membership to the society entitles Rs.15,000 for natural death, Rs.2.000 for last rites, educational assistance of Rs.2,000, maternity assistance of Rs.5,000 and other such benefits.
