Six MLAs suspended

MUMBAI: Six members were suspended for a year from the Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday for toppling tables and chairs and throwing books at Presiding Officer Chandrakant Chhajed. They were protesting against not being allowed to speak during a discussion on the State budget.

The members are Arjun Khotkar of the Shiv Sena, Raj Purohit and Sanjay Kute of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Wamanrao Chatap of the Swatantra Bharat Paksha and Bachu Kadu and Sanjay Chavan (both independents).
