South Africa fined

Chennai: South Africa captain Graeme Smith was fined 20 per cent while his teammates were docked 10 per cent match fees after the visitors were found guilty of slow over-rate in their first Test match against India.

ICC Match Referee Roshan Mahanama imposed the fines after Smith’s side was ruled to be two overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration, according to an ICC release. — PTI
