Laboratory commissioned at medical centre

CHENNAI: The generosity of two families has resulted in the setting up of a diagnostic laboratory at a health centre catering to people in and around Nerkundram, near Chennai.

The Saradambal Neelamegam Rotary Club of Madras South Medical Centre, situated on Poonamallee High Road, now includes a diagnostic laboratory. The laboratory, inaugurated on Sunday, is the result of generous donation in the form of land by the Kasi Viswanathan family and resources from the Swadesamitran C.S. Narasimhan Centre.

Members of both families were represented at the inaugural function, held at the medical centre. A film and slideshow on C.S. Narasimhan and Kasi Viswanathan, were screened on the occasion.

Premila Narasimhan, wife of C.S. Narasimhan, said her search for an agency that would translate her dream into reality had ended with the Rotary Club. Ponnammal Kasi Viswanathan, wife of Kasi Viswanathan, participated.District governor, Rotary International 3230, A.S. Venkatesh, who commissioned the diagnostic centre, said Rotary enjoyed a huge amount of credibility and delivered with very little administrative cost.

Rotarian Raja Ramakrishnan offered felicitations. Rotary Club of Madras South president B.B. Vengatesh and Saradambal Neelamegam Charitable Trust trustee Ravi K. Viswanathan spoke.
