Science quiz sees good participation

CHENNAI: Hundreds of enthusiastic students from various schools participated in the science quiz conducted at the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre here on Sunday.
The quiz was organised by the Centre in association with MTS Academy. According to the organisers, more than 500 students from various city schools took the written test for getting selected for the final round.
In the final round, in which five students participated, Nabeel Rahmatullah, a Class IX student of Sri Sankara Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pammal, made it to the top. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs.5,000 and science books.
M. Mukundhram, an Class VIII student of The Hindu Senior Secondary School, Adyar, came second and took home a cash prize of Rs.4,000. The third place went to H. Samarth, a student of Lalaji Memorial Omega International School, Kolapakkam. He was presented with a cheque of Rs.3,000 and science books.
Ennore Port Limited chairman and managing director S. Velumani urged school students to participate in such competitions and not restrict themselves to studies.
