Era Infra JV bags DMRC order

NEW DELHI: Era Infra Engineering Limited and its joint venture partner, KMB Ukraine, have secured a contract for construction of an underground metro railway station and underground tunnel from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The Rs.148.40-crore project involves designing and construction of the Dwarka Sector 21 underground station, approach cut and cover tunnel, and connected works. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2009.

Era Infra Engineering Limited , a flagship company of the Era group, is a fully integrated infrastructure company with core competence in infrastructure and construction domains. The company develops and constructs highways, railways, airports, power and industrial projects, institutions and universities and residential and commercial complexes.

In a separate award of contract, the DMRC has placed an order for an additional 84 metro cars with the Bombardier Transportation. This contract is valued at about 87 million euros. According to the company, the latest order follows a contract awarded in July 2007 to supply 340 Movia metro cars, making a total of 424 metro cars ordered.
