Four held for land grabbing

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police arrested on Sunday four persons in the city on charges of cheating and grabbing a piece of vacant land and selling it.
Following a complaint from Bama Balaji of R. A. Puram, Commissioner of Police G. Nanchil Kumaran directed the CCB police to register a case. Investigations revealed that the complainant’s family had purchased a vacant site, measuring 2,452 square feet in Ramappa Nagar, Perungudi, for Rs 44 lakh some time ago from K.R.Jagannathan (51) of Moovendar Street, MGR Nagar. Subsequently, the property was registered with the Sub-Registrar Office, Neelankarai.
