Bomb threat to railway stations

KURUKSHETRA (HARYANA): A letter in Hindi received by the station master here on Saturday — purportedly written by Harqat-ul-Mujahideen — contained a threat that bombs would go off at railway stations in Kurukshetra, Amritsar, Ambala and Phagwara on Baisakhi (April 13).

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has lodged an FIR in this regard and all the railway staff and security personnel have been alerted.

“The letter bears the post office mark of Kurukshetra. Therefore, the possibility of some anti-social elements being involved cannot be ruled out,” RPF inspector Narender Dube said.

He said Kashmiri terrorists call themselves jehadis. “They neither write in Hindi nor disclose their identity before any attack.” — PTI
