BKU flays Govt. for ban on wheat purchase by private traders
BATALA: Bhartiya Kisan Union has criticized the Union Government for imposing a ban on purchasing wheat from the Punjab and Haryana farmers by the private traders.
Talking to the media persons here on Saturday, Bhupinder Singh Mann, National president Bhartiya Kisan Union said that it was injustice with farmers of Punjab and Haryana where as the farmers of the other States were free to sell their wheat to the private traders.
He also criticized the Union Government for announcing Rs. 1000 per quintal minimum support rate of wheat where the wheat is selling in the market at Rs.1600 per quintal and the farmers had already suffering a huge loss.
Mann said, that a large number of Punjab and Haryana farmers would organise a protest rally here on April 2.
