Special trains to Ooty

CHENNAI: Southern Railway will run summer specials daily between Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam (except on April 25) and from Coonoor to Udhagamandalam from March 29 to June 8 to meet the summer rush, according to a press release.

Another release said that a special train would be operated from Chennai Central to Mangalore on March 30 to clear the extra rush of passengers.

The train (no 0661) would leave Chennai Central at 10.20 p.m. on Sunday and reach Mangalore at 4.30 p.m. the next day.

Advance reservation for the above train would commence on Saturday, the release said.
