NEW DELHI: A number of elected representatives and office-bearers of nearly a dozen State units of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind on Thursday vowed to jointly make all-out efforts to bring to an end the current crisis that has plagued the normal functioning of the organisation over the past few months. Talking to reporters at the Jamiat office here where they sought to put up a show of strength and unity among their ranks, the State unit presidents, secretaries and other office bearers appealed to Maulana Mahmood Madni and Qari Mohammad Usman to withdraw their resignations. The current crisis deepened further when the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s working committee removed its president Maulana Arshad Madni from his post on March 6. Qari Mohammad Usman was named the caretaker president of the Jamiat in his place.
