BANGALORE: The High Court has quashed the issue of summons by a Bangalore court against the former Director-General and Inspector-General of Police C. Dinakar. Justice N. Ananda passed the order on a petition by Rastra Rachana Printers and Konark Publishers of Delhi and Mr. Dinakar. The petitioners had questioned the legality of the January 18, 2003 order of the 8th Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate in taking cognizance of a complaint by Deputy Inspector-General of Police M.V. Murthy against Mr. Dinakar and the publishers for publishing defamatory remarks against him in “Veerappan’s Prize Catch Rajkumar”. — Staff Reporter
