Rs.235-crore credit plan for Perambalur

PERAMBALUR: The Annual Credit Plan (ACP) envisaging a credit flow of Rs.235 crore for 2008-09 was released here on Wednesday.

The plan envisages Rs.190.40 crore for Agriculture; Rs.12.08 crore for Industries and Rs.32.58 crore for Services.

Releasing the plan, Collector Anil Meshram said that during the financial year 2007-08, the banks had sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs.432.35 crore for the composite Perambalur district comprising Perambalur and Ariyalur districts, against the plan target of Rs.421 crore.

Seeking similar co-operation from the bank officials for the forthcoming financial year, the Collector specifically urged them to chalk out the credit plan before April 10 for the women members of the Self-Help Groups for which Rs.12 crore had been envisaged. He also advised them to adopt select villages in the service areas of respective branch and strive for the economic uplift of the residents.

Chief Regional Manager of Indian Overseas Bank, T. Veerappan, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, V. Natarajan, Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam, A. Ramasamy and Assistant General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Sekar, were among those who spoke.
