Wageboard report in a month

Kochi: The Wageboard for Journalists and Non-Journalists will submit its report on interim relief to the Union government within a month, board Chairman Justice K. Narayana Kurup said on Tuesday.

This assurance was given by Mr. Justice Kurup to a delegation of Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) and Kerala Newspaper Employees Federation (KNEF) at a sitting held here.

Mr. Justice Kurup said a full board meeting will be immediately convened in Delhi which will consider memoranda submitted by various organisations of journalists and non-journalists and newspaper managements, KUWJ said in a press release here.

After examining the memoranda, the full board meeting will finalise the report on interim wages in the newspaper industry and submit it to the government, Mr. Justice Kurup said. — PTI
