Government praises The Hindu for report

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The State Government has commended the news reports published on March 12, 2008, by The Hindu on the time taken to reach the upcoming international airport at Devanahalli from five different locations in Bangalore.

Addressing presspersons, V.P. Baligar, Principal Secretary, Infrastructure Department, said, “On behalf of the Government, I would like to congratulate The Hindu for having published reports on the travel time required to reach the new airport. I request other newspapers as well to conduct similar surveys,” he said.

He said some newspapers had wrongly reported on the time needed to reach the airport at Devanahalli. The time required would be not more than an hour from the central parts of the city, he said.
