Managements demand hike in fee
Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Representatives of the managements of medical, dental, nursing, ayurveda and pharmacy colleges in the self-financing stream have demanded higher fee for these courses for upcoming admissions.
The demand was made during discussions held here on Tuesday with Education Minister M.A. Baby and Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy.
A majority of the representatives expressed their willingness to accept the 50:50 seat-sharing formula. Representatives of medical managements demanded that their institutions be given permission to conduct post-mortem examinations.
The Ministers told the representatives that their demands would be considered by the State government and the P.A. Mohammed fee regulatory committee would finalise the fee for various courses.
Mr. Baby later told presspersons that further discussions with the managements would be held in mid-April.
