All arrangements in place for SSC exams

Fool-proof method: SSC examination material being despatched under security to different centres in Anantapur on Saturday.

Chittoor: All arrangements have been made for the successful conduct of 10th class public examinations to be held from March 24 to April 9 in the district, said Jaleel Saheb, District Educational Officer.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that the examinations will be held from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon. As many as 58,535 students were appearing for the examinations. To supervise the examination centers 10 flying squads 2 special squads and 1 district educational officer squad were constituted besides 79 sitting squads said Jaleel Saheb.

Lack of facilities

TIRUPATI: The Chittoor district unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has expressed its displeasure over the raw deal meted out by the government to the students appearing for the statewide SSC Public Examination.

The ABVP’s zonal organising secretary regretted that despite repeated agitations by all the student unions against the lack of even basic amenities like desks, tables, drinking water, toilets, the government’s apathy continued as evidenced by the fact that students sitting in the open under the trees and writing their public examination was a common sight in the schools in the State even today. The ABVP appealed to the Chittoor district authorities toprovide at least elementary facilities.

Collector’s wishes

ANANTAPUR: District Collector N. Sridhar has wished best of luck to the students appearing for the SSC examinations. In a message, he asked the students to take the exams with self confidence and concentration and come out with flying colours and earn good name for the district.

The Collector also reminded the students that the district administration had already formed a trust in the name of ‘Anantha Aanimuthyalu’ to realise the dreams of those who were poor on the economic front but were on par with those from well-to-do families in terms of academic excellence.
