PFC lifts titles

Coimbatore: Peelamedu Football Club (22 points) and Narayana Guru College (23) topped the table to emerge the ‘B’ and ‘C’ division champions respectively of the CDFA football league here recently.

Final standing: ‘B’ division: 1. Peelamedu FC (22 points), 2. Young Hunters (20), 3. A.P. Kumaran MFC (17).

‘C’ division: 1. Narayana Guru (23), 2. Duraisamy MFC (19), 3. Premier Mills SC (15).

Coaching camp

The Athletic Foundation, as part of its talent screening and development programme, will conduct a three-week summer coaching camp in athletics for school and college students at the Nehru Stadium, Nirmala College and CRR Matriculation School from April 10.

Students selected from this camp will be given long-term coaching at the Nehru Stadium by qualified NIS coaches.

Swimming camp

The Amrita University will conduct a summer camp for the benefit of the public and students at its swimming pool in Ettimadai from April 1.

Cricket tournament

The CDCA league entry knock-out cricket tournament for the Super Spinning Mills Trophy for 2008-09 will be held during the second week of April.
