Killed in accident

TAMBARAM: A temple priest was killed on Thursday, when the bicycle he was riding was hit by a speeding government bus at Irumbuliyur on GST Road.

Venkata Subramanian (65) of Urapakkam was the priest of a Ganesha Temple in Irumbuliyur. After reaching Perungalathur by train, he would reach the temple by cycle. On Thursday morning, he was going to the temple as usual, when an express bus plying between Villupuram and Chennai knocked him down, killing him on the spot. The Tambaram traffic police are investigating.
