Tirunelveli: Defending champion Indian Overseas Bank entered the semifinals of the seventh annual TNEB Trophy State-level hockey tournament, defeating host Tamil Nadu Electricity Board 2-0 at the Anna Stadium, Palayamkottai, on Thursday. In the other two quarterfinals, last year’s runner-up SAI Hostel (Chennai) thrashed Sivakumar Memorial Hockey Club (Thanjavur) 10-0, while Indian Bank posted an emphatic 7-1 win over Thirunagar Hockey Club (Madurai). The results: Quarterfinals: IOB 2 (Adam Sinclair, Arun Stalin David) bt TNEB 0. SAI Hostel 10 (Vinodh Rayar 4, Kalidas 2, Shyamkumar, Gnanavel, David, Vinodh Kumar) bt Sivakumar Memorial HC 0.
