Washington: Marking the fifth anniversary of the launch of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, President George W Bush on Wednesday insisted that the hugely unpopular war was worth the fight and that “removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right decision”. “... This is a fight America can and must win,” said Mr. Bush at the Pentagon. He not only defended his so-called “surge” but also criticised the political opposition for calling an end to the war. “In Iraq, we are witnessing the first large-scale Arab uprising against Osama bin Laden, his grim ideology, and his terror network. And the significance of this development cannot be overstated...”, Mr. Bush said. He also said “removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right decision.” — PTI
