Vaishno Devi labourers’ plight

NEW DELHI: The plight of those ferrying pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir was raised in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday by Udhampur MP Chaudhury Lal Singh. He demanded immediate withdrawal of the tax levied on them.Mr. Singh said he would picket the well if he was not given enough time to speak. Mr. Singh moved towards the well. But as the clock struck one, Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal adjourned the House.
