Provide compensation to farmers: PMK

CHENNAI: Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss on Tuesday appealed to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to immediately provide compensation to farmers whose crops were destroyed in the recent rain.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Dr. Ramadoss said farmers in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Theni, Tirunelveli and Tuticorin had lost between Rs.25,000 and Rs.50,000 per acre. — Special Correspondent
