CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Football Association (TFA) will organise a tournament to select players as a preliminary exercise to forming the State team for the Santosh Trophy National championship to be played in Jammu and Kashmir from May 25.

According to a press release from TFA, the four teams that will feature in the tournament to be held from March 24 to 28 at the Madras Christian College ground, Tambaram, are Annamalai University (inter-varsity title winner), Madras University (inter-varsity runner-up), State under-21 team (finished runner-up in the National at Madurai) and a Tamil Nadu XI comprising players who had represented the State in the last National and National Games.

Those initially selected (around 30) will undergo a coaching camp to be organised in April.

The concerned DFAs have been advised to inform the players of the above mentioned teams on the tournament.
