Woman steals valuables

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: A woman escaped with valuables from a household in Mylapore police residential quarters on Tuesday.

Police said that when Murugan (35) working in the office of the Director General of Police on Kamarajar Salai left home in the morning, his wife Vasanthi was alone.

Around 11 a.m., she went to the terrace of the apartment. Utilising this opportunity, a woman gained entry into the house and within a few minutes fled with some valuables.

When Vasanthi found the doors open, she inquired with her neighbour and came to know that a woman had entered the house claiming that she was Vasanthi’s relative.

Realising that she was duped, Vasanthi informed her husband, who preferred a complaint with the Mylapore police.

A case of theft has been registered.
