36 injured as bus falls into dry tank

KRISHNAGIRI: Thirty-six passengers of a government-owned bus were injured when it fell into the dry Karapatti tank near Uthangarai on Monday. Sixteen of them were referred to the Uthangarai Government Hospital and the remaining admitted to the Tirupathur Government Hospital.

The police said the bus was going from Salem to Vellore when the driver, while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle, lost control. — Staff Reporter
