Music festival from today

Bangalore: The third Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi Memorial Musical Festival, organised by the Sri Lalithakala Academy Foundation of the Swami Viveknanada Yoga University, will be held in Bangalore from March 15 to 17 on the Jigani campus.

Radha Viswanathan, daughter and disciple of the late Subbulakshmi, will be conferred the Sangeetha Ratna Award on Saturday.

A souvenir “Journey through images of M.S. Subbulakshmi” will be released by the former Lokayukta N. Venkatachala.

The award ceremony, which will begin at 6 p.m., will be followed by a vocal concert by Ms. Viswanathan along with her granddaughter S. Aishwarya.
