BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced that his government sanctioned an honorarium of Rs. 500 per month for anganwadi workers and an honorarium of Rs. 250 per month for anganwadi helpers with effect from April 1 this year. This will be over and above the honorarium being paid by the Central government, Mr. Patnaik said, while making a statement in the State Assembly. The Anganwadi workers and helpers in the State had been agitating for fulfilment of their various demands for the past several years.
