HYDERABAD: State Bank of Hyderabad entered the final of the V. Hanumantha Rao Super Cup prize money football tournament with a 2-0 win over Andhra Pradesh Police in the semifinals at Gymkhana Grounds here on Tuesday. After a barren first-half, SBH took the lead in the 60th minute when substitute Khaja was on target with a long-ranger. Within 10 minutes, striker Mohd Ali scored the second goal for the bankmen. Wednesday is a rest day and the final is scheduled for Thursday. Easy for JHICJubilee Hills International Centre scored a convincing, 73-28 win over Sanathnagar Playground in the Maganti Raj Kumar memorial basketball tournament at City College here. The winner led 20-16 at the break. In another match, Gymkhana Coaching Centre defeated Flying Asteroids Gymkhana 81-55. SAAP invites applicationsSports Authority of Andhra Pradesh has invited applications from eligible sportspersons for the Dhyan Chand Award 2008 for lifetime achievement in sports, in the prescribed proforma before April 30. The forms are available in the SAAP Office and the AP Olympic Association. For details contact SAAP Office at Lal Bahadur Stadium. Applications are also invited for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2007 along with performance sheets in Internationals / Olympics / Asian Games / Commonwealth Games / World Cups and World Championships. SAI coaching course Sports Authority of India will organise a six-week certificate course in sports coaching from May 19 to June 25 at Patiala, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Aurangabad, Gandhinagar and Thiruvananthapuram for men and women in different disciplines. The details are available with the SAI Office at Begumpet in Hyderabad and the Sports Training Centres of SAI across the State. The application forms should reach Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Moti Bagh, Patiala, by March 31.
