Pranesh bags five wickets

NEW DELHI: A five-wicket haul by Pranesh Desai helped Railway Wheel Factory register an eight-wicket win over Railway Board in the 53rd all-India Railway cricket championship here on Saturday.

In another match, half-centuries by Vikram Dhariwal and Sachin Chaudhary guided Northern Railway to a five-wicket victory over South East Central Railway.

The scores:

Railway Board 135 in 41.5 overs (Pranesh Desai five for 29) lost to Railway Wheel Factory 136 for two in 14.1 overs (S. Manger 54, V. Cheluvaraj 50).

South East Central Railway 243 for nine in 50 overs (Santosh Das 57) lost to Northern Railway 244 for five in 47.5 overs (Vikram Dhariwal 75, Sachin Chaudhary 50).
