Golden effort by Gagan
HYDERABAD: Gagan Narang clinched the men’s individual 50m three position gold in the Australia Cup shooting championships at the Sydney International Shooting Centre (SISC) range on Friday, according to information received here.
The Hyderabad shooter, who is being supported by Goldquest, a fund floated by billiards maestro Geet Sethi, had a total of 1250.2 points. Hot on his heels was compatriot Sanjeev Rajput, who tallied 1249.6. Australia’s Benjamin Burge was third with 1242.4.
Incidentally, Rajput was a point ahead of Narang with 1154 points in the preliminary rounds. The latter raised his performance thereafter.
The results: 1. Gagan Narang 1250.2 (Ind), 2. Sanjeev Rajput 1249.6 (Ind), 3. Benjamin Burge 1242.4 (Aus).
