It was in the fitness of things to pay glowing tributes to Justice H.R. Khanna, the upright judge with unmatched courage and independence, who remained steadfast in his principles even under adverse circumstances, quite aware but unmindful of the prospect of losing the post of Chief Justice (“A profile in judicial courage,” March 7). He might have missed the opportunity to occupy the coveted post but he has found a place in the hearts of thousands both within and outside the judiciary. K.D. Viswanaathan, Coimbatore B.
