Team selection put off to March 17

Mumbai: The selection of the Indian cricket team for the first two Tests against South Africa (Chennai and Ahmedabad) has been put off from March 9 to 17. “The selectors will pick the team at Bangalore during the Deodhar Trophy.

“Coach Gary Kirsten (arriving on March 17) will also attend the meeting,” said BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah from Sydney.

The team would then attend a two-day workshop at Manipal County Resorts, 20 km off Bangalore, before assembling in Chennai for the first Test slated to start on March 26. — Special Correspondent
