Staff Correspondent

HUBLI: A three-day music festival will be held in Dharwad from Friday as part of the 53rd death anniversary of sitar maestro Rahimat Khan.

Kalyan Apaar of Aurangabad, Anuradha Kuber of Puna, Shraddha Jain and Praveen Shevalikar of Bhopal, and Harish Tiwari of New Delhi will perform.

The Sitar Ratna Samiti, Dharwad, has organised the festival in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Sangeet Natak Academy, LIC of India and Canara Bank.

Shrinivas Joshi and Vinay Nayak of the samiti told mediapersons here on Thursday that a tribute would be paid to sitar exponent Bale Khan through “Sapta Sitara” on the final day.

Seven sitar exponents from his family will present it.

The venue of the music programme will be the Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Kalabhavan.
