HUBLI: The Ramakrishna-Vivekanand Ashram here has chalked out a plan to construct an ashram spread over 76 acres of land near Tadas village in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district. President of the ashram Swami Raghuviranandji told mediapersons here on Wednesday that the 76-acre plot on Tadas-Mundgod Road had already been booked. The ashram will be on the “gurukul” model, where a rural residential school, teachers’ training centre, yuva nirmana kendra, library, prayer hall, yoga, meditation centre, theatre school, gymnasium and other facilities would be set up. The seer said that the project had been planned by the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence and the funds were being provided by donors. The ashram was aimed at attracting children and youths towards Indian culture in these days of westernisation, he said. Those interested in making donations should contact the ashram office in Kalyannagar, Hubli, or call 0836-2377345.
