Corrugated box makers seek excise cut

CHENNAI: The South India Corrugated Manufacturers’ Association has urged the Union Government to reduce the central excise duty on corrugated boxes to 8 per cent from 14 per cent. Lalit Lath, President of the association, has suggested that the excise duty on corrugated boxes should not exceed 8 per cent levied on kraft paper, the basic raw material. — Corporate Reporter
