NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday sought revision of the Central Board of Secondary Education syllabus to reduce stress on Class X and XII students. Raising the matter under Rule 377, Sandeep Dikshit of the Congress said students writing the examination were under pressure to perform. BurdenSome even committed suicide, consumed drugs and visited psychologists due to the burden at an age when they should be enjoying their childhood. StressAgreeing with the member, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said even parents and grandparents were under stress during examination time. “My grand-daughter is writing her Class X examination and the entire house is tense,” he said. He asked the government to review the syllabus to make it less stressful. Agreeing with the Speaker, the House called for a revision of the syllabus.
