Chaos at civic body meet

MAHABUBNAGAR: Pandemonium prevailed in the Municipal general body meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Obedullah Kotwal on Friday.

Allegations and counter allegations marked the meeting over the issue of creation of Indiramma Adarsha ward committees.

TD councillors Goverdan Yadav, Ramakrishna, and others led by its floor leader Krishna Mohan alleged that rules and other guide lines were flouted while constituting the committees. Congress party councillors B. Sudhakar Reddy, MD.Yousuf, Benhur, Balaswamy, Gopal Yadav refuted the allegations. The TDP members alleged that corruption was high in the Indiramma Adarsha wards and at one stage rushed to the podium and squatted there stating that they will resign if they failed to prove the corruption. At this juncture the Congress councillors demanded to prove the corruption charges. Following this there was exchange of words between the members of ruling party and opposition.
