Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A. Raghotham Rao took over as the Chief Secretary on Friday and promised to work for the welfare of the State with dedication and commitment.

The outgoing Chief Secretary, J. Hari Narayan, received him with a hug and invited him to the chair in the C block of the Secretariat. Mr. Rao said “it is thrilling to receive charge from a batchmate.” Both of them belong to the 1970 batch of IAS officers and began their careers as assistant collectors, the former in Warangal and the latter in Visakhapatnam. Earlier, Mr Raghotham Rao called on Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in his chambers in the Assembly and thanked him.
